● A fresh water generator primarily operates on the principle of removing dissolved salts and other impurities from water. The most common methods include reverse osmosis and distillation. In reverse osmosis, pressure is applied to force seawater through a semi-permeable membrane. This membrane allows water molecules to pass through while blocking salt and other larger particles. In the distillation process, seawater is heated to produce steam, and then the steam is condensed back into liquid water, leaving behind the salts and impurities.
